On July 22, 2025, the research team of Fu Wei/Zhou Xin from the Department of General Surgery, Peking University Third Hospital, in collaboration with the research group of Tang Fuchou from BIOPIC (Biomedical Frontier Innovation Center), Peking University, published a research paper in Protein & Cell titled: Systematic characterization of full-length RNA isoforms in human colorectal cancer at single-cell resolution.

The study revealed the multi-level features of RNA splicing regulation in cancer cells and their potential impact on protein structure and function, providing a new perspective for analyzing the transcriptome plasticity of colorectal cancer and the therapeutic targets of RNA splicing regulation. Professor Fu Wei and Associate Chief Physician Zhou Xin from the Department of General Surgery, Peking University Third Hospital, and Professor Tang Fuchou from BIOPIC, Peking University, are the co-corresponding authors of the paper; Postdoctoral Fellow Lu Ping and Ph.D. Candidate Zhang Yu from the School of Life Sciences, Peking University, are the co-first authors.
