Professor Jiang Changtao and Academician Qiao Jie's Team from Peking University Third Hospital Publish Findings in Science, Discovering the First Type of Intestinal Probiotic Fungi Improving Immune-Related Metabolic Diseases

        On May 2, 2025, Jiang Changtao, a jointly appointed professor at Peking University Third Hospital Institute of Medical Innovation and Peking University Health Science Center School of Basic Medical Sciences, in collaboration with Academician Qiao Jie's team from Peking University Third Hospital, online published a research paper in Science titled: "A symbiotic filamentous gut fungus ameliorates MASH via a secondary metabolite—CerS6–ceramide axis". This study provides a new intervention strategy for treating immune-related metabolic diseases by targeting ceramides.

        Professor Jiang Changtao, Academician Qiao Jie, Researcher Pang Yanli, Professor Zheng Minghua, and Researcher Wang Kai are co-corresponding authors of this paper. Shuang Zhou, a postdoctoral fellow from Peking University Health Science Center School of Basic Medical Sciences, Meng Li, a doctoral student, and Pengcheng Wang, an associate researcher from Peking University Third Hospital, are co-first authors of this paper.
