Professor Tang Yida and Hua Xinwei from Peking University Third Hospital, and Professor Huang Tao's Team from Peking University School of Public Health, Publish Research Findings in JAMA Cardiology on Synergistic Reduction of Coronary Heart Disease Risk Through Combined Lipid-Lowering Drug Intervention

        On May 1, 2025, Professor Tang Yida and Researcher Hua Xinwei from Peking University Third Hospital, and Professor Huang Tao's team from Peking University School of Public Health, published a paper in JAMA Cardiology titled: "Joint Associations of APOC3 and LDL-C-Lowering Variants With the Risk of Coronary Heart Disease". This study systematically evaluated the individual and combined effects of the triglyceride (TG) target APOC3 and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol targets (PCSK9 and HMGCR), finding that combined intervention can synergistically improve the lipid profile and further reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, and is expected to become an important strategy for residual risk management in high-risk cardiovascular disease populations in the future. Tang Yida, Hua Xinwei, and Huang Tao are co-corresponding authors of the paper, and Wenxiu Wang from Peking University School of Public Health is the first author of the paper.
