        On August 14, 2025, the launch ceremony of the Peking University Third Hospital - Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences Ophthalmology AI Smart Innovation Joint Laboratory was held at Peking University Third Hospital. At the ceremony, Hong Jing, Director of the Department of Ophthalmology, Peking University Third Hospital, introduced the construction background and phased results of the laboratory. Xu Bo, Director of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, expressed that future cooperation in areas such as AI image analysis and intelligent diagnosis and treatment will be deepened. Academician Qiao Jie, Executive Vice President of Peking University, Dean of Peking University Health Science Center, and President of the Medical Innovation Institute, Peking University Third Hospital, Secretary of the CPC Committee Jin Changxiao, and President Fu Wei of Peking University Third Hospital respectively delivered speeches, emphasizing the need to take "innovation leadership" as the driving force, carry out forward-looking layout, adhere to the working mechanism of "clear division of labor and collaborative promotion," boost the innovative application of AI technology in multidisciplinary scenarios, and radiate advanced technology nationwide.
