On August 18, 2025, the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association announced the winning projects of the 2025 Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Science and Technology Award. The project "Establishment and Clinical Application of Precision Surgical Diagnosis and Treatment System for Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors" led by Professor Yuan Chunhui's team from the Department of General Surgery, Peking University Third Hospital, and the project "Research and Development and Translation of Key Technologies for Smart Radiotherapy for Tumors" led by Yang Ruijie's team from the Department of Radiation Oncology, both won the Second Prize of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Science and Technology Award.

Yuan Chunhui's project team took the lead in establishing the "6+2" all-round comprehensive evaluation system for patients undergoing complex liver metastasis surgery, and the precision diagnosis-pathology-prognosis system for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. They innovatively proposed the jejunal "basin-type" anastomosis for pancreatic wounds, maximizing the preservation of organ function, reducing perioperative complications, and improving surgical safety.

Yang Ruijie's project team developed algorithms and systems based on Artificial Intelligence and mathematical optimization models for multimodal image fusion, automatic contouring of radiotherapy structures for tumors, automatic planning, and automatic quality control. This solved key problems such as the complexity and variability of tumor radiotherapy target areas and the poor accuracy of manual contouring, improving the efficiency of structure contouring, plan design, and quality control.
