On August 18, 2025, Peking University Third Hospital held the concluding and exchange symposium for the "Peking University Third Hospital - Victoria Hospital, Mauritius, Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment Technology Training Program." President Fu Wei stated that the Hospital will leverage its disciplinary advantages to contribute to the health cause in Africa. Sun Gongyi and Zhu Liying, former Chinese Ambassadors to Mauritius, and Shao Meng, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, National Health Commission of the PRC, emphasized the important significance of the cooperation.
At the meeting, two Mauritian visiting physicians shared their learning experiences, and their supervising teachers and department heads offered praise. Representatives from the Mauritian government and Victoria Hospital commended the trainees for gaining more than expected and looked forward to deepening cooperation. Academician Qiao Jie, Executive Vice President of Peking University and Dean of Peking University Health Science Center, pointed out that the project is a vivid practice of building a Community of Shared Future for Mankind, and Peking University Health Science Center will continue to fully support it at the policy and resource level to promote multi-field cooperation.
At the China-Hospeq 2025 Conference on August 15, President Fu Wei attended the establishment and development meeting of the China-Africa Hospital Alliance and delivered a keynote report. Cui Ligang, Director of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine, took the lead in forming the "China-Africa Hospital Alliance Joint Working Group for Ultrasound Diagnosis and Treatment."
