Professor Zhao Yangyu’s Project from Peking University Third Hospital Was Selected as One of the Third Batch of Ten Major Achievements of the Capital's Special Program for Scientific Research/Clinical Application, 2012-2024

        On September 10, 2025, the Innovation Achievements Releases and Launch of the 2025 CIFTIS Health Services was held in Beijing, announcing the third batch of Ten Major Achievements of the Capital's Clinical Features and Scientific Research Promotion Project for 2012-2024. The project "Establishment of Risk Assessment and Hierarchical Management System for Placenta Accreta" led by Professor Zhao Yangyu's team from Peking University Third Hospital was selected.

        Targeting issues such as insufficient early assessment of placenta accreta, imperfect grassroots identification and referral systems, and non-standardized surgical techniques, the team developed an integrated diagnosis and treatment management system for Placenta Accreta Spectrum Disorders. Results showed that the rate of hemorrhage and blood transfusion for patients with placenta accreta both decreased by more than 70%, and the rate of uterine preservation increased to over 95%.
