The First Batch of Pilot Units for the Beijing Municipal Innovative Drugs and Medical Devices Clinical Application Demonstration and Promotion Center Was Announced; Two Specialties of Peking University Third Hospital Were Selected

On November 28, 2025, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission announced the first batch of pilot units for the Beijing Municipal Innovative Drugs and Medical Devices Clinical Application Demonstration and Promotion Center. The Oncology and Orthopedics specialties of Peking University Third Hospital were selected, with Professor Fu Wei and Professor Li Weishi serving as the respective professional leaders.

The Departments of Oncology and Orthopedics have developed systematic construction plans centered on the bottleneck issues in the promotion and application of innovative drugs and medical devices within their respective specialties, benchmarking against the task requirements set by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission for pilot units. The Department of Oncology takes complex populations among cancer patients as its research subject, carrying out clinical application verification and standard formulation, demonstration training and standard promotion, and systematic feedback and iterative support for innovative tumor drugs in these populations. The Orthopedics specialty focuses on the verification, iteration, and feedback optimization of orthopedic surgical robots, digital joint replacement products, and orthopedic implants, while also conducting innovative drug research and development.
