On November 27, 2025, the team of Researcher Liu Dongyang from the Drug Clinical Trial Institution of Peking University Third Hospital, in collaboration with Professor Zheng Lemin's team from the Peking University School of Basic Medical Sciences, published a research paper in Nature Communications titled "Odoribacter splanchnicus rescues aging-related intestinal P-glycoprotein damage via GDP-L-fucose secretion".
The study provides potential intervention targets and strategies for improving drug metabolism abnormalities in the elderly population and preventing adverse drug reactions.
Liu Dongyang and Zheng Lemin are the co-corresponding authors. Associate Researcher Cheng Cui (Peking University Third Hospital), Lu Fang (a graduate of the eight-year basic medicine program at Peking University), and Chief Physician Lei Li (Department of Cardiology, Peking University Third Hospital) are the co-first authors.
