Delegation Led by the Rector of Agricultural University of Athens Visits Peking University Third Hospital to Explore Interdisciplinary Innovation Integrating Medicine and Agriculture

On April 14, Professor Spyridon Kintzios, Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens in Greece, led a delegation to visit Peking University Third Hospital. Shen Ning, Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital, and heads of relevant departments including the Party and President's Office, Education Office, Scientific Research Office, Department of Pharmacy, Central Laboratory, and Office of Scientific and Technological Achievement Transformation participated in the meeting.

In their remarks, Vice President Shen Ning and Rector Kintzios said that interdisciplinary integration has become an important trend in scientific innovation and health development. They expressed the hope that the two sides would work together through diverse cooperation models, including joint scientific research, mutual visits and exchanges of talent, and coordinated industry-university-research collaboration, to jointly explore frontier interdisciplinary fields and contribute positively to global health.

The two sides introduced their institutions' development histories, achievements in building leading disciplines, and core research progress. Focusing on pathways for implementing interdisciplinary cooperation, they held comprehensive discussions in four areas: building a talent exchange platform, deepening joint talent training, establishing a collaborative innovation system, and improving the chain for translating research achievements. They also clarified future directions for cooperation.
