International Spinal Cord Society President Professor James Middleton Visits Peking University Third Hospital

On April 16, Professor James Middleton, President of the International Spinal Cord Society, visited the Spinal Cord Functional Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Center of Peking University Third Hospital.

Professor James Middleton visited the wards of the Department of Neurosurgery and the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, and then attended an online seminar organized by the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Collaboration Group of the China Hospital Rehabilitation Medicine Consortium. Cui Guoqing, Director of the Spinal Cord Functional Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Center and Director of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, delivered remarks and introduced the development of the rehabilitation medicine medical consortium. Jiang Yu, President of the Haidian Northern Branch of Peking University Third Hospital, introduced the multidisciplinary model for treatment and rehabilitation of spinal and spinal cord injuries at the branch. Liu Nan from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine introduced the development and current status of the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Collaboration Group. Professor James Middleton systematically introduced the International Spinal Cord Society's basic profile, management philosophy, and operating model, and expressed hope for stronger future cooperation to jointly advance the discipline.
