On the afternoon of June 26, the National Health Commission held a press conference to introduce efforts to promote reproductive health. Li Rong, Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital and Director of the Department of Reproductive Medicine, attended the press conference.

Regarding the issue of women preparing for pregnancy who discover uterine fibroids or ovarian cysts, Li Rong emphasized that they should not decide on surgery on their own, and that the vast majority of women can prepare for pregnancy normally. On self-monitoring of reproductive health, Li Rong suggested paying attention to three aspects: menstrual signals, abnormal indicators in health examinations, and lifestyle risk factors. Scientific contraception is the greatest protection for women, and Li Rong introduced the usage scenarios of three types of contraceptive pills: combined short-acting oral contraceptives, long-acting contraceptives, and emergency contraceptives.
