Recently, the team of Dr. Zhao Yangyu from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Peking University Third Hospital, together with the team of Dr. Wang Wei from the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Peking University, jointly published a research paper in Redox Biology titled "Oxidative stress-mediated abnormal polarization of decidual macrophages promotes the occurrence of atonic postpartem hemorrhage." The paper elucidates the critical role of oxidative stress and immune inflammation in uterine atony-related postpartum hemorrhage. This research introduces a novel perspective on how the maternal-fetal interface affects the uterine myometrium during labor and represents the first global publication on the mechanism of decidual macrophage involvement in uterine atony-related postpartum hemorrhage. Qu Jiangxue, a PhD candidate from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Peking University Third Hospital, and Jiang Hai, Assistant Researcher, are the co-first authors of the paper. Professor Zhao Yangyu, Associate Professor Chen Lian from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Peking University Third Hospital, and Associate Professor Wang Wei from the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Peking University are the co-corresponding authors.
