       On June 18 and 19, 2025, Ryan Merkow, Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center, USA, and Professor Fabien Reyal, Director of Breast Surgery at Institut Curie Hospital, Paris, France, respectively visited the Department of General Surgery, Peking University Third Hospital, for academic exchange. Relevant medical personnel from the Department of General Surgery, Department of Pathology, Department of Oncology Chemotherapy and Radiation Sickness, Department of Radiation Oncology, and Nursing Department of Peking University Third Hospital participated in the academic exchange meetings.

       Associate Professor Merkow's visit aimed to exchange ideas with Peking University Third Hospital's Department of General Surgery on the standardized diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal tumors and hepatobiliary and pancreatic tumors. Professor Reyal engaged in in-depth discussions with Peking University Third Hospital's Department of General Surgery regarding the necessity and advantages of conducting breast tumor oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery and breast reconstruction surgery.
