Multiple Research Findings from the Department of Gastroenterology, Peking University Third Hospital, Were Presented at the 2025 United European Gastroenterology Week

        On October 4 to 7, 2025, the 2025 United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW 2025) was held in Berlin, Germany, where multiple research findings from the Department of Gastroenterology, Peking University Third Hospital, were selected for presentation.

        Professor Duan Liping's research group presented two research findings at the conference. The first report, "New Choice for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth – An RCT Comparing Berberine and Rifaximin," explored the potential role of berberine in SIBO treatment through a non-inferiority randomized controlled trial. The second report, "Randomized Controlled Study of Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) Combined with Rifaximin (RIF) for the Treatment of Functional Dyspepsia (FD)," explored a new treatment protocol for FD.

        The research by Professor Ding Shizgang and Professor Zhang Jing's team, "Precise Prediction and Early Diagnosis of Gastric Cancer via Machine Learning Using Plasma Multi-omics Biomarkers," was selected for e-poster presentation.

        Professor Song Zhiqiang's team had two latest clinical studies, focusing on the individualized eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection and its impact on the entire digestive tract micro-ecology, selected for poster presentations.
