On October 24, 2025, the launch meeting for the National Science and Technology Major Project "Construction of a Whole-Course Management Platform Integrating Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for Complications of COPD Based on Internet of Things Technology" was held at Peking University Third Hospital. The project, led by Peking University Third Hospital in collaboration with 15 national institutions, aims to address key challenges in early diagnosis, acute exacerbation warning, and individualized full-course management of COPD complications.
Professor Tang Yida, Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital, emphasized in his speech that the project aligns with national strategic needs and holds important scientific and clinical value. Professor Miao Qing from Xiyuan Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and Head of the Major Project Expert Group, pointed out that this project is an important practice in promoting the coordinated development of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. Professor Chen Yahong, Associate Director of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and Project Leader at Peking University Third Hospital, reported on the overall status of the project, and the leaders of the sub-projects introduced their respective implementation plans. Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues, including the feasibility of the project design.
