Teams Led by Han Yongzheng and Guo Xiangyang of Peking University Third Hospital Published Findings in the Leading Anesthesiology Journal Anesthesiology, Providing a New Solution for Early Risk Screening of Postoperative Delirium

On December 4, 2025, the team of Han Yongzheng and Guo Xiangyang from the Department of Anesthesiology of Peking University Third Hospital, in collaboration with the team of Zhang Mingsha from Beijing Normal University and multi-disciplinary forces, published a research paper in the authoritative journal in the field of anesthesiology, Anesthesiology, titled "Saccade tasks: A non-invasive approach for predicting postoperative delirium in elderly arthroplasty patients".

The study provides a new non-invasive and precise solution for the early risk screening of postoperative delirium (POD) in elderly patients undergoing lower limb arthroplasty, representing an important breakthrough in the field of perioperative neurocognitive protection through multi-disciplinary intersection.

Associate Professor Han Yongzheng and Professor Guo Xiangyang are the co-corresponding authors of this article; Kang Meng, an attending physician in the Department of Anesthesiology, and Lai Xuan, an associate chief physician in the Department of Geriatrics of Peking University Third Hospital, are the co-first authors.
